What Feelings do you try to Convey in your Work?

Been a long time since I posted one of these questions. But, better late than never. When I talk about feelings, I mean feelings with meaning. I mostly try to convey feelings of joy and love in my works, or lack thereof when I have to. Whether it’s characters hugging, or when a character suffers a tragedy, I try my best to emulate that emotion to the viewers. What meaningful feelings do you try to convey in your works? Sorrow, romance, joy, fear, etc?

The staircase that's growth is infinite, but we should climb anyway to see how far we can go. But remember: growth starts with humility.

My art is like the visual equivalent of this song (at least that's what I consider it)

If I had to describe it, it would be like "Mindful and delicate angst"

But that's mainly my own interpretation of it, so I feel that it's a good idea to ask other people what feelings they think it conveys.

Depends of what i'm trying to achieve. I tend to express a wide range of feelings in my art.

In this one for example, I tried to emphazise insanity, sickness and lack of empathy.

In this other one, I tried to depict isolation and introspection

And in this one, I wanted to show some curiosity, joyfulness and maybe at some level, a bit of weirdness

Well…you’re just starting out by the look of things. I recommend studying a bit about anatomy first then do research some expression examples. Watch some media involving genuine romance, overwhelming fear, unbridled joy. It’s easier for me because I have a strong sense of empathy, but try to figure out what works for you. Here’s some stuff from my gallery that may help you a bit, as I drew these with strong emotions in mind. Studying may suck, but it’s a necessity.

wonder how the automatic embeds are programmed and if the stretching of the box was intentional or lazy, guess in this context it looks good.

To be honest, I see indifference more than I see confusion. Not that you’re uncaring in your work, rather it’s like you just let yourself off the leash when you work. It’s blunt, brutal, unabashed, yet relatable.

Your work certainly expresses that DeBlob-style of joy and funk! The vibrancy, the dynamics, the colors, they all give off that feel-good groovy vibe!

I can tell that a lot of energy was put into these. But I can barely sense it because it’s currently late where I’m at and I’m barely staying focused and awake.

I'm not sure if I settle on a particular emotion but I like to keep a lot of my art "quiet" I suppose

Whether it's meant to be something calm, spooky, reflective, whatever, I like my art to get across those kind of quiet, in-between moments

Like if I were to draw a monster design, it would be the moment the flashlight lands on them and I'd wanna get across that pang of terror that shoots through your head in that split second. Or if I were to draw an environment piece, I like to add a little guy just sitting and resting by a tree or something, settling down to take in the scenery around him

mental pain

A pain that leads one bordering the edge of madness and despair. Clinging onto the one thing that brings comfort. That's probably the best way to describe it. I'm not too good at explaining feelings.

Odd as it may sound for someone's whose output is largely smut, but I would say the primary thing I want conveyed when viewing my art is...security?

I find adult artwork's indulgence in taboo to be tiresome, overly saturated and embarrassingly insecure and what I make is very much a direct response to that content. Adult or otherwise, largely what I draw are characters doing things and what I want communicated in my work is that those character are unambigiously comfortable and happy doing those things.
