This thread will showcase my progession for my final college project, Bones in the Ocean!
I cannot wait to get into this, it has been in my noggin for many years now. And it's finally here aaaaaa!!!!
The game will be a visual novel/point-and-click sea faring adventure game. When I mean a visual novel, I mean Disco Elysium and Ace Attourney, where it is just a story with some gameplay and visual elements. Why? Well, I'm more focusing on the art.
Y'see, I'm really doing the character design as the main point for this project, the game part is me showing that i can make gud gaems.
By the way, I'm using PowerPoint for the first chapter. It's just easier for me.
But I'll remake the first chapter into a comic or even an actual game, I've gotten a whole bag on me right now and I have a tight deadline ahead of me. I'll keep posting any updates here!
Let's start off, around... (holy shit two years??) cough two years ago I drew what was a sea faring Scottish Terrier wearing a sea captain's outfit with a comically large clay pipe. He, once called Fanto, was but a little idea I had as a character I drew while staying in Appledore (really nice place, look it up) for a few days.
He was like Thanatos (hence, Fantos), but instad of a river it's an ocean. I didn't understand how to design characters before, you could tell by his jankyness and bland description of himself. I want to give him justice by have him sailing an unforgetable adventure.
He might have a refined taste for mussels, he might not. Maybe he'll cheer "that's the spirit!", or somethign worse. Who knows? Here's some other sketches I did before the project.
His name is Captain Albert. He is in charge of his darling ship and a companion to Lucy.
I will be showcasing some studies of animals, anatomy and inspirations. Any tips will be hugely great thanks!
