Your favorite N64 games, and why are they?

Off the top of my head in no order:

Super Smash Bros

Mischief Makers

Yoshistory

Super Mario 64

Banjo Kazooie

Banjo Tooie

Ocarina of Time

Majora's Mask

Harvest Moon 64

There's probably more, but this just a quick look back.

Um, I don't want to go too long; so my reasons will

be shorter than the list

Smash Bros before it got nerfed and kind of technical, and just being crazy and random will always be fun! I also enjoy mismatched graphics, the 2D Pokemon will always make me laugh, this us also why I like Yoshi's story. It's fun, and can look EXTREMELY cursed! Speaking if which, Zelda 64 games are fun, challenging and I honestly had no idea so many people were afraid of OOT😂 my love for these games grows with every new scared youtuber an theory that pops up!

I just picked up a Japanese N64 and have been slowly shopping for games. I have been meaning to try the Banjo series. Also Conker. When I tried Smash I was surprised at how intuitive the controls are with the trident controller; in this game I actually found myself blocking and using my whole moveset instead of smashing buttons like I do in the later games.

By far my favorite N64 game is Sin and Punishment. It was made by the same company that made Mischief Makers. It's a third-person platforming rail shooter. The controls are very weird but if you can learn them it's a very engaging action game. There is never a dull moment, because levels are constantly throwing strange new obstacles that are difficult but never feel broken. It's also a lot of fun if you like to play for score.

Best of the best is of course Majora's Mask and Ocarina of time, but if i had to pick more "obscure" games I'll go with Doom64 and Pokemon Snap(okay, that is not really "obscure", but people don't talk a lot about this games). I really love that they change the formula a little in Doom64. I like Pokemon Snap cause it was a cool brainwash game for me at that time.

It is really cool to see more people pickin up on old game system. I highly recommend you Banjoo Kazooie and Zelda games. Top of the top in gaming industry.

I haven't played many n64 games, out of the small four I played, I'd say maybe Kirby 64?

Take it with a grain of salt, I am slower than a snail.

I like anything by Rare a lot. Take banjo kazooie, gameplay wise it was a bit too similar to mario 64, but the overall presentation of how you collect things and interact with environment made it very unique to me.

You have a good list there.

Conker's Bad Fur Day holds a special place in my heart because of nostalgia, but also because it has a multiplayer mode that stands the test of time.

Literally the greatest collectathon game I've ever played. Nothing STILL has beaten it yet in my eyes.

Ocarina of Time set my golden standard of exactly what I want in a 3D Action-Adventure game in a fantasy setting, and for me still has not been topped, in all these years. Remains tied with Sonic Adventure as my favorite game of all time.

Didn't get to play much, but I really enjoyed Goldeneye 007. Didn't beat it until we got mouse port on PC since the later parts get pretty brutal. A lot of old games have fantastic first halves with kinda weak finishes.

Nintendo did the Disney games? I'm curious now....

That's a hard one, but honestly, I gotta say Banjo Kazooie and Banjo Tooie. Both of those games are such charming platformers

I also really love Ocarina of Time, because who doesn't?

There's a Mrs Pacman game that's not on arcade?

I might sound stupid, but I honestly thought just Pacman got games, and even then they're very far and few between.

Had no idea there was anotuer Mrs Pacman game at all

Believe it was just a one off piece to coincide with pac-man's anniversary at the time ... it's worth giving it a go

Nintendo published the Mickey's Speedway USA game. It was developed by Rare and was similar to Diddy Kong Racing. Donald Duck was an Ubisoft game though.
