Let's be real here. Microsoft and Sony have made it really easy to become a PC gamer this generation. When we were still in the Xbox/PS2/GC era, there were so many damn console exclusives that all that "PC Master Race" talk just consisted of jerking off those better specs and suddenly going deaf when people ask for game recommendations that aren't a Medal of Honor clone or an RTS. Nowadays I think there's only like 30 console exclusives total between the PS5 and Xbox Series, and many of them are only timed exclusives.
Consolewars still go on for some reason and it's basically the inverse now; PC has a ton of great exclusives while Xbox Series and PS5 owners are jerking off the fact that their console of choice is apparently more powerful the other one then playing dumb over the fact that they both have the same library. Not to mention looking for the differences between the Xbox and PS version of a game nowadays is like playing the worst game of i-Spy.
inb4 they hit you with "b-but muh smoother shadows! but muh nicer foliage!" or worse, a comparison video set to half-speed to exaggerate the otherwise unnoticeable framerate differences.
The way I see it, get a PC, get a handheld, and you're good! Steamdeck for all its warts, gets the job done. If I didn't have so many Nintendo Network pals I'd drop my Switch and just use Yuzu.
Barely related but I like how we haven't had an "I'm a Mac and I'm a PC" commercial in probably 15 years and yet the stigma of PC users being dorks still lingers, even despite Linux being well-known as THE operating system for soap dodging weirdos.
Actually now that I sit here and really analyze it, it's even weirder that Apple tried to imply that Macs aren't personal computers. But I guess "I'm AppleOS and I'm WindowsOS" doesn't ring as well.
