Meant to post this in the voice acting forum instead of audio.
I remember something like this image explaining that people headcanon that each different Mario sprite has a completely different personality.
I feel a similar way with comic dubs and fanfiction.
Sometimes, when I watch a comic dub that I like, the comic dubber will become my headcanon for how the characters would sound like in the comic, and any other comic dub will feel "inaccurate". I don't just mean in the sense that they're a good voice actor or that their voice matches my headcanon for the characters.
Rather, I am unable to read a fanfiction without referring to one comic dub as the "canon" voices of that comic series, even if it's wildly inaccurate to my headcanons or the canon voices of characters.
For example, I forget if it was VO Adam or Shavs media productions, but because I watched a comic dub of the Casino Cups series I headcanoned Cuphead and Mugman as having Australian accents in that series exclusively(mainly because they sounded more mature than in other comic dubs).
Does anyone feel the same way, and if so could you make a compilation of different character designs of the same characters from different comics, with text below explaining what they'd sound like?
