so true!! i used to have sonic free riders when i was a kid and it was basically unplayable with how bad the kinect controls were, but i still revisit the theme song to this day cause its catchy

im not even sure if it was just an all around issue with the kinect or not, because when i’d use it to play dance central it picked up on movements just fine… meanwhile you could jump high enough to concuss yourself via ceiling fan and somehow free riders still wouldn’t register that you’re trying to move.

To be honest though, I feel that's become a bit of a flanderization. Like, Pictionary is just fine as a game even if the concept scream lazy cash grab and Silver Surfer is famous mostly just for being hard (and having music that goes hard), rather than being especially inept. It should really read Every Follin OST comes with a mid-ass game. To wit:

I can't imagine an Amiga port of Capcom's seminal classic Ghouls 'n Ghosts is gonna be top tier gaming, but ya can't deny that fucking on-point guitar! I don't think I've heard a sample that convincing on hardware this old since the field music in Secret of Mana! Does Rayman 1 counts? I mean, the OST and art are gorgeous but the gameplay kinda suck ass so much that a fan remake did everything better lmao-

Kind of amazing how every Sonic game has a good soundtrack, even the bad ones. There's so many, but Sonic R was the one I played when growing up, for the PS2 and for PC. I remember waking up super excited and be reminded imediately that Sonic R is like a succubus that seduces you with its' OST full of bangers and, before you know, it sucked off all your energy and excitement only to leave you with the rage. Let's just say that some of the war crimes I commited all those years ago can be blammed in this game.

I think Mega Man X6 is special here because it has multiple design flaws and gameplay flaws and just bugs overall but has probably the most banger OST of the whole series.

Danganronpa V3 and Ultra Despair Girls. The writer and gameplay are pure garbage (The former for both especially for Danganronpa standers), but goddamn the music in those pieces of sewage are godly. Wonderful Dead and Scum Debate are top tier.
