What do you guys think the next 3d Mario is gonna be like? Do you think its gonna be like Odyssey, or is it gonna be like the older titles? maybe something completely new? Nintendo always makes 3D Mario have completely different gameplay from other games in the franchise when they make a new console so I'm really interested to see what they're gonna do next.
Each installation is really different from one another, so it's really hard to predict, either way it's probably gonna be peak lol

Mario receives a magical bean, after eating it he was cursed to be on the verge of shitting himself.
Tapping Y make Mario rip out a fart, running and hitting Y boosts Mario forward with his farts.
Hold ZR down for him to charge a super shit, which launches him up, hold it mid air to hover while squirting diarrhea.
That's the basic moveset, you can chain these like Odyssey and Sunshine, and do sick combos.
By the end of the game you fight Bowser, who suffered the same fate, his attacks are vomiting and burping.
Peach is nowhere to be seen, and Luigi and the toads can be found running away from Mario, most enemies are more attracted to Mario this time around though.
Take it with a grain of salt, I am slower than a snail.
I want a game with yet another neat gadget that won't be seen ever again. F.L.U.D.D. and Cappy as an example. They make the platforming and movement so much more fun than having him without them like in Mario 64 and Mario Galaxy did.

They definitely should add a movement gimmick in the next game. maybe if we're lucky the new game will reference the old gimmick characters, like maybe a postcard from Cappy or seeing Egad and F.L.U.D.D hanging around the beach world that will most definitely be in the game. Nothing that will change the gameplay but cute little references.

New Donk is probably as close as we're gonna get to New York in a Mario game. I thought that they retconned the bros to be from New Donk but the Mario movie made them from Brooklyn again so I don't know anymore.

As long as Nintendo doesn't fumble it I'm happy, it will probably be a switch 2 launch title though, maybe it'll even be this year's holiday title

I don't think the Mario movie is actually cannon to the Mario Games, so most likely the brothers are from New Donk City.

Oh it's definitely gonna be a Switch 2 title. I don't think Nintendo has ever made a console that didn't launch with a major Mario title. The real question is the console gimmick gonna make the game worse or better.

Don't worry it's fine. Honestly if I wanted to make a thread on the Mario movie I wouldn't know if I would post it here or in the animation forum so it's completely understandable.

I think it'll be a 3d platform to show off what the Super Switch/ Switch 2 can do vs. the original as the switch hardware has aged okay. Though it really does show its age to some extent.
