Hey everyone, I haven't been active on Newgrounds recently, and I haven't posted any animations for almost 2 years. I've been privately working on a personal project that I'd like to share. It's called, The Last Burning Star:

It's a fantasy/sci-fi story set in a reality where magic and technology coexist, and many races of sentient mythic creatures populate the world. Legends have spread of an extinct continent which holds a priceless treasure in its very center. Thousands of travelers around the world are racing, and dueling one another to the death to reach the center. So far, none have made it to the treasure alive. The story focuses on the perspective of four individual travelers as they intertwine on their journeys, fight for survival, and unravel the mystery behind this treasure.

It's going to be a serialized story, formatted like a road trip, monster-of-the-week where the protagonists face new obstacles and foes throughout the journey. It's largely inspired by the works of Genndy Tartakovsky (Samurai Jack) in its style and execution. There are long moments of silence during downtime, and intense fights with unique gimmicks each time. It's a violent story, with moments of pathos as the lore and struggles of the characters are explored.

Realistically speaking, this is too ambitious for me, a one-man team, to turn into a web series. It's an epic story that would take years just to make a handful of episodes with my current schedule and lack of funding. I want to start small, finish the first, or possibly second episode, then assess how I want to continue the story. I have the beginning, middle and end of it planned out, but I want to cut the overall plot down to an achievable scale. If the series gets traction, I may put together a team to assist with future episodes. I'm saying this here because I want to source my voice actors and other commissions from Newgrounds. Starting with episode 1, I'll be seeking auditions for several minor and major roles in the story.

Episode 1 will be finished next year, and I'll have a trailer finished in the coming weeks. In the meantime, here are some finished shots:

you've some balls to pursue something like this as a one man team. hats off to you.

I finally finished the trailer for episode 1 yesterday! It took me a long time, planning everything out and getting the art style right. I want to finish the episode in spring, and possibly make episode 2 shortly after.
