Just completed the demo of Keep Driving, I hella liked the atmosphere, sfx, gameplay - everything!

Now I want some more of that. More something with pixels and all that, also would be a good bonus if:

  • You drive;
  • Is some kind of inventory management.

Not in a hurry, but would appreciate the suggestions.

Any of the Animal Crossing games except New Horizons. New Horizons is just a chore. It lost a lot of its laid back appeal that it had throughout the series.

Other than that, Harvest Moon and Stardew Valley, despite chores being a focus of the game are pretty laid back to.

My favorite laid back game though, has gotta be Hey You, Pikachu!

No driving aspects, but I suggest Knytt Stories for:

  • Cosy atmosphere
  • Pixellated graphics
  • Inventory management to some degree

If you like making stuff, or have a ton of ideas, then I'd say Minecraft (on easy or peaceful) would be right up your alley, a couple car mods here and there and boom you can drive.

Otherwise you could just ride horses, minecarts or whatever.

Take it with a grain of salt, I am slower than a snail.

I have a few suggestions for cozy-ish games. All games are available on Steam, by the way:

Hope this helps a bit!

Holy cow, never knew someone would make a old-skool quest game. Might try it out, thank you!

I am not much for super slow games, but i liked Toem. It's a monochromatic photography game inspired by works such as The Moomins set in a Scandinavia inspired world. It's even better if you're scandinavian yourself so you can get all the small references.

Bit pricey, but still must have. Will check it you, thanks!

I remembered something that sort of might fit your criteria, in an unconventional sense. Dredge is a horror game where you sail around a world catching (sometimes horribly deformed) fish which you then have to fit in your hold. Mind you there is a linear story, so it's not exactly a simulator.

I know the tone of it is probably way out of what you're looking for, but i figured i might suggest it since it fits the criteria you wanted.

Cozy games exist outside of the modern genre of games meant to be cozy. I find the original Paper Mario is really cozy / nostalgic

Pretty specific, but I see what you mean. Weird thing, is that I find calm moments in Cry of Fear a bit cozy. Night, streetlamps, no human sight, just you alone. And, well, bit of lurking monsters.

Seen lots of vids about Paper Mario, but never played it. Might as well give a try, thanks!

Digital Ember is a pixelated camp fire, so that's quite cozy. But you don't do much, you just put wood on the fire.

The Forrest

You're just chillin on an island (because the plane you were on had an oopsie and fell down). So you go chopping down trees and stuff, to build a cozy campsite for yourself.

The digital version of the root board game is pretty cozy. I don't play many cozy games though.

Oh man, The Long Drive. Played it with G27, custom radio (80s - 90s), on winter biome - it was magical.

Caribbean Sail looks very promising though. Rogue-like pirate RPG in 8-bit, added to the list, thank you much!

Never tried CircloO, but might grad it, thank you!

Slime Rancher is indeed a good game, never completed it. Unfortunately, I am no farm fan, so yeaaaah.

Papa's Pizzeria is pure classic. Played it as a kid, got beaten up by hard time management heh.

It's alright, no big deal. Looks interesting, might grab a friend or two to try it out, thanks!
