Short Story - The Bedtime Monster Stories

Greetings!

I've been meaning on working on a series for a long time. I meant to publish this last year on Halloween night, but got caught up (and lazy).

Every month, I will be writing a short horror story and publishing it onto Wattpad! (There are not enough characters here to publish my story). I am looking to improve my work and become better as a writer; I hope this will help me in my journey.

Anyway, here is the first story of the month!

The Bedtime Monster Stories - The Puppet Seller

Henry is a slacker. He gives Miss Bonny trouble on the farm while playing with his best friend, Jacob. One day, a mysterious man shows up, offering the two boys puppets from his cart. Day by day, the puppets start to change. Henry is in glee! Happy to own, what he believes, a magical puppet! Jacob, however, is not so easily convinced.

Both the Introduction and the first Story are very good- and that comes from a Writer. I could nit-pick a few bits, but really, I enjoyed reading them.

The one thing I think worth pointing out is that you do what many of us used to do when we started off- you change tense and it can be quite jarring for the reader. It is rarely appropriate to write a story in the Present tense, so stick to the past as you write and check for it as you edit it.
