I'm so useless, I forgot to make this thread sooner, now there will be a lot of cramming to do for the awards, and hopefully I don't cough up blood at the end of this year.

The nomations thread will go up a bit later, so keep an eye out, and I am once again going to try the Supporters User of the Year, so do become a supporter on Newgrounds!

Nominations will close at some point mid December, then voting will open, here's the timeframe.

BBS Award Nominations: 28th November 2024 - 12th December 2024

BBS Award Voting: 13th December 2024 - 31st December 2024

BBS Award Results: 1st January 2025 (Hopefully)

I am also looking for someone who can programme something to show off the awards, please contact me if you are interested!

Well, I got anounymus-frog's name wrong, I wanted to change the best helper to yatsufa, I wanted to add that the best event would be the return of the best of the month awards and the user of the year should be tyhond.

I removed some conversation posts from the nomination thread--- no one's in trouble or anything, it's just that all discussing happens here. The other thread is only for voting/nominating.

Every year we forget and end up talking in the other thread and have to remove posts, so no one stress over your removed posts. It's nothing "bad."

Now, once @Little-Rena is an admin though, she'll be deleting accounts. So everyone be nice.....

While @BaconFetish was my only choice I thought for the I MISS YEW nomination, some hours after posting my nomination, I started thinking about someone else I also wanted to see make a comeback: @ZONE-SAMA. I know they're making some huge updates to their Archive (idk if they finished it or not), but damn, their animations sure filled a hole in this site (-_o).

Besides the obvious reasons, they are also funny and very talented. I remember rewatching the ZTV News in marathon while waiting for Episode 10. And hey, if they surprised us all with Ankha, imagine the possibilities of what they can come up with in the future?

At the moment, I have no intention to contribute to what Little-Rena rightfully called a circlejerk, but seeing my recent notifications, I felt the need to point a few things out:

I'd say the day I could be rightfully considered the most helpful person on Newgrounds, NG's days are numbered.

From my perspective, @Pingu & @Skoops seem the most likely fit for the Most Helpful category, because they actually contribute information that's not already easily accessible and things based on actual experience (Also: Click Here to be Sent to Cube Jail). Whereas I mostly regurgitate stuff I either read/learned here on Newgrounds but have often not tried out myself. The rest of what I do in that regard is... "reminding people of 'common sense'", really. Obviously I wouldn't put that effort in if I didn't think that it would be helpful to others, but I'm hardly the best at what I do.

On top of that: I mainly haunt the Artist News and various inboxes, so I'm not sure I even qualify for something called the BBS Awards.

So in light of all of that information I'd like Little-Rena to ignore nominations for me in that category.

Yeah, it's heart-warming, when I read those posts from a few months ago (especially from page 2). If only that thread has received more attention (even if Gecko is a strange user), because it shows, that even if some users don't like each other, we should put our differences aside and help those that need our help. It's also closes another chapter, ceases the bad terms between the users involved.

While I don't think his intent was to be insensitive I do agree it was inappropriate for him to be talking about Squize's submissions and I just opted to tell him directly that he was in the wrong to do that and even going as far to make it about himself.

No I could tell what kind of user he was right away when I saw one of his first threads and it had nothing to even do with GoAnimate.

The thing with people like him is that, and I'm saying this having had experience with people like him back on The Spriters Resource years ago is that these are the type of people who feel very entitled to compliments and nice things and will refuse to take any sincere feedback.

Mind you, those are the kind of people I have an issue with. (I almost went down that road too before I got banned on pixeltendo and ended up changing my username to something else on TSR so no one would recognize me... and it worked for some time.)
