Closing Thoughts

The new year is off to a great start! It’s been so heartwarming to see the NG Documentary Kickstarter achieve its goal with a few days to spare and soon we’ll be able to use the big box to promote ongoing events like our Flash Forward Jam, inviting people to make new games and interactive movies with Flash.

Thank you everyone who made something for our fifth annual Pixel Day on January 23rd!

Pixel Day is one of my favorite events and this year we’re introducing Low Poly Day, currently slated for Friday, June 6th. A more formal announcement is coming but if you need inspiration, think PS1-PS2 graphics and Y2K electronic music.

@Everratic hosted the Video Game Music Challenge throughout January, check out the VGMC entries!

@Droid hosted Jamuary, giving artists the goal of one song per day. Listen to the entries via the Jamuary2025 tag.

This year marks 30 years of Newgrounds and 25 years since being the first website that allowed real-time publishing for movies and games. Please see our 2025 Event Plans post for more info on all the festivities and collabs being organized to celebrate!

Another fantastic month of games! Congratulations to all the winners and all the game devs for delivering such fun. This month was an absolute flood of around 40 games to play, most likely due to Pixel Day, which I've got to get back to playing the rest of the entries! Woof, just can't catch a break!

As usual, feel free to check out my rankings on my news post here. I definitely agree with most of the winners this month, but don't sleep on Cash Clicker which revolutionized clicker games for me, and Cronela's Mansion was a pretty impressive GBC point-n-click that I think got passed over! It was bloody hard to narrow down the top 10 and honorable mentions this month: just so much quality content!
