I don't what to call them...Ranks? Anyway, I noticed the "Civilian" status, and always wondered what that meant, considering others had different Ranks. What's that all about? Just curious...

Ranks go up as a user votes on movie & game submissions which are under judgement (purple in the classic portal). As they earn points from blamming (voting low and the submission fails) or saving (voting higher and the submission remains) they get points. Those points reflect in the ranks and increase the power of the user's vote by a percentage.
Blam and Protection points are awarded for each submission you judge correctly. If you vote 0-1 on a submission under judgement that's blammed, or 2-5 on one that's protected, you'll get a point.
