Does any body know how to control a Sound file (Wav) in flash.. I.e a button which can turn the background music on and off
I just give up trying to figure out how to do it!

Just make a button then right-click and go to actions and then basic actions > Stop all sounds. This will stop the background music. You don't really have to have a button that turns it on, cuz if they want it on they'll just leave it on.

insert a new movie clip, in the first frame add a "Stop" action, then loop the music in that frame as much as you want. Create a button in that same frame labeled "stop music" or whatever and have the action for that button "goto and stop frame 2." Then in frame 2 do a "stop all sounds" and a "stop" command. Add a button labeled "play music" with actions "goto and stop frame 1." Your movie clip is done, then just go back to your regular movie and drag the clip from your library onto the stage. When you do it this way you can click the sound on and off as you wish. Its really pretty easy when you get the hang of it. Then you can work on multiple loops.

Try a program called Goldwave for making your loops...trimming sound is so easy...i can make 10 flawless loops in under an hour on that thing. it even handles wav, mp3, and tons more!
