Who gives a shit if it is a first try, do a good job and keep working until you do a good job then submit it. You really shouldn't put "This is my first flash so be nice" in the description, that is pretty much a definite blam.

I don't know what's more astonishing: that it took Protosccat123 THREE HOURS to animate that little demo, or that he was dumbfounded to find out it was blammed. Thoughts anyone? :p
no wonder it got blammed and i dont think that took 3 hours more like 3 mins but most flashes are weeks months maybe even years to finish.
and by the way i put in my description this is my first flash and it never got blammed.

Why? Because it sucked a bit less, but wasn't good enough.
What I recommend is if you have an animation that you're not sure will survive on the Portal, then post it on the BBS first, and see what people think. Then, improve it and post it on the Portal.

Firsts are only blammed when:
1. You say that they are your first in the description
2. It really isn't good.
Newgrounds doesn't really care that it's your 1st or your 15th- just how good it is. And yours needs work. Not saying that my first was better than that- because it probably wasn't. But my first submitted flash probably was.

My first flash movie i´ve made came through and it people actually liked it ... BECAUSE I SPENT 3 WEEKS on it.
when u really get into flash 3 hours is like just drawing up the pictures, BG etc at the minimum.

My flash didnt get blammed because I worked on it.
It didnt get so many "good" reviews though and score was something like 2.5682 (or whateve with those last numbers).
But after that I worked on better storyline and animation...
It got decent score.
So... You should just work harder so people will vote better.

if someone's first flash wasn't rubbish, then people would just think that the user stole it.
my first one didnt get blammed but i spent ages on it and even though i spent ages and it still wasnt great it was good for a first try even if your a great animator 3 hours is nothing so if its your first try and you work 3 hours its gonna be crap.

some level of quality control is present. Also, bad place, and bad time. Just work harder, and improve. Or make an animation about those darn blammers
