It's called Chamber of Glass. I experimented with blender a little bit and came up with this. :)

Sweet, it looks pretty cool!
pretty nice stuff guys, for the arms you might want to add a little bit of inverse bump mapping for the pores of the skin otherwise very nice

Some more angles of the arm
these hands are amazing, what program did you use?
this is monster loosely based off of the creature I drew in the 15min sketch thread.
its a game model with some bumpmaps applied
some parts are completed yet
nice creature, it would be advisable for people on this thread to do hi res renders when submitting merely for the artistic beauty rather than game renders which don't look as good.
i was experimenting with water, its not the greatest i know, im still trying to work out how to get the colours etc right.
nice... wats it for? Oh yes that guy has propportions way out of wack, i know you probably want it that way, wat's the guy supposed to be?

Ya going for a cartoony style - the final picture is for a competition where you are supposed to used a full body model in some sort of battle scene.

youre right it sucks. its the equivalent to using filters in photoshop. I gotta say for someone who just post abstracted filtered crap you are seriously opinionated
lol, i agree, at least someone was able to word what i was thinking. ive got a better render coming up. oh yes... those textures wer very inconsistant if thats what you want to know, in fact i can see all the jagged lines etc, smoothen it out and make the segments less visible.

yes I know which is why I stated it wasnt finished.

sucks, how about something that isnt shapeless and easy to produce?
like a body of somekind.
if youi can tell me where to find some skulpting tuts, then ill be happy to, otherwise my answer is that my total experience with blender is about a year, in which i havent used it that much because of my schooling, heck! im still an amateur.
in blender of course. im too poor for the commercial programs

What have you posted neil? I don't even think you posted anything up here.
Oh and thanks mind, I am going to redo it I did it half a year ago and there are alot of mesh errors because it was my first full body and head and I think I didn't do to badly. The reference images I used were horrible.

i wasn't trying
some of these 3d models are so awsome. some of you could do video game models.
keep up the good work.
could you give me some advice on making bodies, niells, ive been having trouble making them easily
in max, cant you just add an mSmooth or subdivide surface?
it's the quick way for going for a low edited poly to a higher "resolution"
does the lizard look better with that kind of effect?
z brush is just only slightly worse than using poser. it teaches you nothing about actual modelling it's just push and pull on a smooth surface and make something out of a blob.Kinda like virtual clay. Learn programs like MAX and MAYA first, and learn the fundamentals, then use z brush once you know what you're doing
