most xbox360 owners know about the red ring of death. how do i prevent it from happing? dose it only while your online?

Apparently there's this ex-Microsoft and if you accept his friend request it gives you Red Ring of death. But thats probably a rumour.

1st answer: u cant prevent.
2nd answer: usually it happens in a huge firefight b/c sometimes the xbox cant register all of the light in the game.
