Yeah, that's Jessica Peffer. She's really talented, and she even wrote an entire book on how to draw dragons and other fantasy creatures. It's got a lot of good stuff in it, and it's a great jumping off point if you're interested in learning the basics for fantasy.

Dragons are awesome! I really like how Draconianspirit draws her eyes.

Anyways, here is a dragon I drew ages ago. I only coloured him recently though.

He climbs trees super fast, and glides rather than flies as his wings are slightly flexible and totally compactible. He's more at home in warm, moist climates with tall trees to swoop from, but he does creep around in caves when it gets too hot. Only about 5' long, including his tail; he feeds mostly on insects, lizards, amphibians and sometimes even birds. His greatest competitors and threat in his natural habitat are ants and flies.

Gotta love yourstyle of coloring, very nicely done. Gives it a more realistic feel.

This is what I got so far.

That looks like it has a ton of potential once finished, the detail level so far is great!
And they eye looks wicked.

Thank you! ^_^ For the texture I used a picture of a granite tile, I think.. or was it marble? I can't remember which. <_>

i've always wondered... how much "outsourced" texture can you add before it becomes... well, photomanipulation, instead of drawing?

Haha, well, I think textures are pretty much safe. I tweaked the texture image until you couldn't tell what it was. When you start using photographic images for lines I think it starts to qualify as a mixed media image. Photomanipulations and composite photo graphics are primarily photograph based.

I'm not sure exactly where the limit is, but I'm guessing that it's when the balance tips where picture is noticeably made of more of one than the other (with mixed media being a large gap in the middle).

Anyways, i was gonna do something for the red thread, but i think its more fitting here. Just a quickie.

You must ALWAYS find time for dragons...
Magnificent beings, real or not.

And for a quickie, that is very good, with a nice perspective.

Really nice color job...the angle of the head looks a bit awkward to me though.

Did this recently, and I guess it fits the category for here.
Tried a slightly different, smoother shading this time.

All very nice drawings! I only wish I were that talented I am just not very artistic. But I found this one video on drawing a dragon and the detail and realism is amazing!! Check it our HERE

Its a speedpainting done in photoshop. Some of the speedpainters on youtube are just amazing. The best one I have found yet is Nico di Mattia.

any questions or concerns, just ask here or note me ^^

hmm, I like your approach of a good eye.
I'll make an Evil eye tutorial next time. Eyes are one of my particular specialties.
So for right now, I'll give you a 3 semistep tutorial of how to do a dragon (particularly my "Wyx Dragon") from the bottom view (Do not copy the wings, I made the mistake with those on purpose, it looked a little funky when I tried doing it the right way).

hmm, I can't seem to find the scan001.jpg image I was looking for, looks like you guys will just have to make due. Sorry.

WTH?! Apparantly only ONE picture at a time. Cheap arses <_<U Oh well, there's just a dragon....sweet and simple :P

ME TOO! Pencil art FTW!
Though whenever I color it, it comes out as crap.

So yeah. I did this one before I saw this thread. As such, it has none of your techniques. Put a leg/arm tutorial up, because I really suck at those.

It looks more of a dinosaur than a dragon, but, as always, it's still amazing.

When I picture a dragon, I think of an elongated maw. (Is maw the word for mouth region, or am I stupidly mistaken?)

I drew this about 2 years ago and it was probably one of the last times I've used lined paper in my sketches...
