Ah I've been checking in multiple times a day actually, and getting it constantly, but it seems that if I go about visiting NG Logs the correct way, it does sort itself out after a few refreshes. At least it did now.

...and visited it directly, effectively fetching new stats each day without necessitating a button click. As long as the username cookie's been created this seems to have worked fine thus far, but maybe it works differently/server errors are somehow processed differently if you go via the main site and hit the 'fetch stats' button there instead...?

Good to hear it's not constant anyhow, no worries! Hope it's an easy fix for them then.

Well, I think it's better now - it seems that some time in the last few weeks, the hosting company moved some sites around to a new server, but they used an older backup image for my sites. Some of the fixes I made recently were inadvertently undone, as I discovered when I compared the published file info against my source here. I uploaded and resynched the source code, and the internal error log was much happier. I was able to log in, get stats, and check the lists.

Let me know how it's working for you folks - If I missed anything, please post it.

Hmm is there a new failsafe in place with this new code maybe? I'm getting a 'Quick Death - Too many requests from this IP today' message when I try to fetch stats now. I think I've just tried two or three times today - both times however gave me a 503 error thus far. Shall check again tomorrow I guess, maybe it's all good then...

Was thinking maybe there's an issue if you have too large a number of logs, and they're somehow counted as individual requests, but seems you have plenty too so I guess it's not that. Or more/bigger stats require more requests? Anyway I'll get back to this in a day, maybe it's a cache thing or something. Good to hear the new source was saved; is in place now too.

I can load the main site fine, but as soon as I attempt to 'jack in' it's 503 every time.

There is still something odd going on with the hosting company. I am trying to get a tech on the line to figure this out. As soon as I have an answer (that actually works) I'll let you know. Sorry about this...

HOUSTON, WE HAVE A PROBLEM!!

It seems that my web hosting company suddenly nerfed the PHP CURL library, so NGLogs and the EGB stat reader no longer can retrieve data from the NewGrounds website. I'm working with them now, and hope to have it resolved soon. This explains why NGLogs has been throwing 503 errors since 21-Jan-2023.

Oh, that's a pretty commonly used library is it not?

IMPORTANT UPDATE REGARDING NGLOGS

With help of @BrenTheMan we were able to track down the source of the problem - old code. Most of the NGLogs code was written years ago, especially the database management and the CURL calls, using PHP 5.6 As of January 21st, the security requirements for CURL required a minimum level of PHP 7.*. When I upgraded the PHP level in the host from 5.6 to 7.3, the CURL functions worked again - but now all of my database access is failing because I am using expired methods.

I now have to rework the back-end database handling on the NGLogs and EGB sites to the newer methods. This may take a few days, but at least I know what's wrong and what I need to do to fix it.

Please bear with me as I update the code -- we'll be back online as soon as possible.

GOOD NEWS!

It took a bit of work, but the database code for NGLogs has been updated and the site is now operational again. While I was in there, I added more error checking and retry logic so that the site is a bit more robust.

I'll be monitoring the runtime / error logs for the next few days, tweaking as needed. If anyone notices anything flaky, please PM me or post here and I'll look into it.

Sorry about the downtime - fortunately, no data was lost and everything is back on track once more.!

It's a slightly less active one movement-wise this time, but gains are high, with Punisher creeping into the Top Gainers again too - seems he may be intent on keeping that #1 spot for some time yet. :)

Congrats @DRUM-SKUNK on jumping from the 2x10K to 3x10K tier with 10k blams!

Corrigendum for update #83: Biggest loser then was Shrapnel, with -101, not @Christopher. Sorry 'bout the number jumble! Unintentional script or formula hiccup.

There were also a couple duplicate users listed on updates #83 and #84. Have removed them retrospectively and attempted to fix counts, but the ranks/rank gain numbers are still slightly off there. Back to normal with this one hopefully.

He's on OG for sure! Always nice when these old names pop up in updates again, but I wish it wasn't with losses... alas, all accounts do keep moving downwards. You see a lot of forgotten familiars in the list though if you scroll.

One thing I'm a bit surprised with though is how no accounts with exactly 10,000 posts have moved below it for... about a couple years now I think. Post amounts decrease gradually as well, but there are quite a few who've managed to stay on exactly that tier for a long time, with I'm assuming no activity to maintain it.
