Update (12/20/2004): Updated a couple of the grafics + my signature

I'm still very new to flash, so my focus was on the story and I just kept the animations as simple as possible.

The Heckonomicon was initially intended as a book about gods, spirits and other theories, and not as a flash, so there is a lot of text, otherwise, it just wouldn't make sense. So unless you like reading, I advise you not to view this. Hope you enjoy it anyway.

not a bad history lesson

i belive you refere to the Necronomicon... and yes the begining was similar to the forementioned "story" however if nothing existed but the entity and it was to create something else other then itself thus destroying itself.....its own thought (another creation) would have destroyed itself.....hmm ya know what, it seems as tho my mind is too complex for its own good. yeah if your going to make a part II i plan to watch it. main reason of im interested on your veiws of "being".

HeckoX responds:

No, I don't refere to the Necronomicon. The only reason that "Heckonomicon" has a similar name, is because "nomicon" is ancient greek, and means "The book of laws of (something)". In Necronomicons case, "The book of laws of the dead". In this case, "The book of laws of Hecko" which is me.

About the thought=destruction thing, I see the dilemma, even though I don't completely agree. I don't believe that a (creative) thought in itself is a creation (more on this in chapter X-3, I think it is... maybe X-4), but a thought enables you to create something from it. So it's the whole "from nothing to something" cyclus, like the Entity.

And there will be a part II... as soon as I get some time to spare.

Its like the beginning to a bad RPG

If it really was the beginning of a series (Part 1? Whats that about?).. and had better graphics.. had a better name.. and didn't have any spelling mistakes it might actually be passable..
In the mean time, it just seems like something that spilled from my colon and onto the keyboard.

HeckoX responds:

Yes, it is part of a series, this was the first chapter, and yes, I agree, the graphics are sucky, but what's wrong with the name? Do you even know what it means? And I can't seem to find any spelling mistakes, nor could my computer or proof reader. Sure it's not just you?

Provoking

Enjoyable on a deeper level. Very thought provoking. If only you had an talented flash artist, you could have made something even greater from this.

HeckoX responds:

Yeah, it was kind of limited by my sucky ability to draw flash... But I hope to improve, or at least find someone who's good at drawing

nice job!

That was awesome... although i couldn't read everything, because it went too fast... but good job, makes me wonder about things... could dark actually protect us from evil?.... we'll never know...

HeckoX responds:

thanks =) And sorry for the speedy text, I tried fixing it, but ended up screwing everything up, so the movie doesn't run anymore.

uhhh...

I think you got em mixed up man... wasn't good supposed to go with light? Or are you saying light is evil? It would explain a few things... televangelists.... Jerry Falwell... Madonna....

HeckoX responds:

Just because a lot of people says light is good and darkness is evil, doesn't make it true. For instance, when stare directly into darkness, nothing happens, when you stare into light, you go blind. For me, that makes Darkness better than light. The only reason we fear darkness is because we don't understand it. I could be wrong, but I could also be right. Just wanted to clear that up.
