Its very slow, and the ships are also a little too blocky. But other than that it's fine.
HO HO HOPE you become a Newgrounds Supporter this year!
We're working hard to give you the best site possible, but we have bills to pay and community support is vital to keep things going and growing. Thank you for considering!
Happy i finally got something worth putting on the portal up, this took me a fair amount of time, and was my first Swift 3D/Flash integrated animation. I have had so many little stories going on inside my head, and i decided to make this one a reality that i could share with others.
The inspiration for this flash came from playing Freelancer and viewing the DarkStar One trailers, but what really got me to go ahead and make it was logfish's Air Skirmish shown on newgrounds at: http://www.newgrounds.com/portal/view/300220
I'm going to get going on making the next episode of the series, i really want to blow you guys away the next time, i'm going to have a lot more detail (and colour) on the ships, since people have been complaining about not being able to tell the difference between the teams, but yeah, i'm trying to make it very story based.
Thanks for watching.

Very nice objects
Your 3d objects looked very nice; loved the scenes where you got to show them off in full roundabout scale. Some of the sount was a bit off-level, but, overall, a very nice flash. Great job.
Thanks man, the next one is nearly done, i've adressed as many of the problems as i can that people have responded to in the first one.
Pretty sweet effort
Well Desperate Housewives is a sucky compelation episode tonight so I watched your flick tonight - pretty cool! Yet again I'm impressed by your hit and smoke graphics, flame and lazer shot effects - they're great! Really smooth, fluid and seamless, excellent. Some suggestions you might like to look into for the next one is to put in some colour into your ships (I'll tell you how if you're unsure), and have some music for the action sequences. I read you took the music out, but I think it'd really pick it up to have something in the action sequences at least. The ships could also use a bit of an ambient hum or something too I spose - not too loud, but something. I know you're not too interested in optimisation (I don't know why I enjoy making things as small as possible but I do) but that scene where the cargo ship is dumping cargo and stuff - that could've easily been done with a single 3d object, not a tweened ship over like 30 seconds or something - it probably made about a meg of the file size right there! Not that many people on dialup anymore so you may not care, I don't know. Noticed the stars in the background didn't move all the time there was action going on which is a pity because when they did, it was fantastic - just adds a kind of realism to the camera movement, and adds to the chaos of an action sequence. I like the detail you go into with your story, that's cool. Great work on the flash, well done getting an award :)
Thanks heaps man, i know there is a lot of mistakes, and ive made most of the models for the next one so far, written the script, now i'm just putting the scenes together.
Really appreciate your review man, cant wait to see your next movie.
Very good
This was great. I loved the fights for the most part, because they were fast-paced and somewhat realistic. It reminded me of Star Wars a bit.
The script and voices decent. They weren't totally believable, and lacked emotion in key areas, like when their buddy's head was blown open by the enemy fire. (Wouldn't his body have been sucked out into space if the window was cracked, anyways?)
But the one thing that I really didn't like were the control panels on the ships. Nothing about them looked like ship panels.
Also, in one part near the end, there was a caption missing when one of the characters was talking.
But with those little things aside, this was good. I really enjoyed it, and I can't wait for the next episode to come out. The storyline advances well, and the 3D graphics are great for this movie.
not bad.
well i definately will wait to see the 2nd part. it was a good length, but at least u know how to move the story along. maybe adding a short opening segment to it would explain wtf the good guys are and what their doing. and yes i realize u figure out their "federation cargo ships," but a little heads up helps.
