[[IMPORTANT]]
a lot of people are complaining that the goal does nothing when you get there, you have to click it in the current version, but seeing as people dont like this, i'll change it in the next version. thanks for the feedback everyone!
the newest version of my platformer, now with background music, sound effects and most importantly, a death function.
future versions will include more weapons, more levels and the action stages, a mix between the main levels and the minigame.
yes i know my art and animation is terrible, it cant really be helped, i'm not an artist, i'm a newbie programmer XD
please leave feedback on how i can improve my game, additions are constantly being made, but suggections on improvements are always useful.
most of all, enjoy!

It's...
You tried. I can tell. So here's a few things to help you in the future:
1. You know you're not an artist, but if you want to seriously design games, find one. I'm sure you have a friend somewhere who can animate or at least one who's willing to learn.
2. If you keep on making platformers, make sure to zoom out a bit. It really broke the flow of the game when I felt like I had to check my speed so that I could see what was coming up.
3. Maybe it was just me, but jumping felt very... odd. There were four or five times that I died simply because my guy wouldn't jump high enough, even though I was holding the button. Other times, it worked perfectly. So I don't know--just something you might want to look at.
4. It seemed pointless to have different buttons for the different weapons if we could only have one equipped at a time. Just make one button "attack" and leave it at that.
So there you go. Do those four things (or even just the last three) and you'll have an improved game.
Nice effort
It´s a good thought but it could get an improvement here and there.
- The music button seems to be malfunctioning because it only stops the music for a short periode of time then it starts again
- Put some more effort in the stick figure, even though it isn´t that bad as it is now. It just gives the feeling of fast drawn. Take your time with it nobody is rushing you =)
- I got to the action level one and I don´t know what it is with that button but it seems to take me back to lvl one? You could take a look at that.
overall it´s a good effort though =)
well....
the music is great! unfortunately thats about it, i cant really figure out the fun of this game? and what with the spinning knife? idk man i cant figure it out, try making a more finished copy before you upload i guess... keep it up tho you can only get better!
You've got something going
I'm always happy to see people working ot platformer games, simply because I love these games and they can be an endless source of fun.
First of all, I reached the goal in stage 1, but nothing happened. Is this right?
Next, I did not understand what the sword is for. I think you should include a description in your main menu and explain these things.
Visually, there are a lot of simple ways you can improve the game, even if you are not an artist. For the game menu, simply add more color to it. Make the buttons colorful and so on. There are a lot of good books for ActionScript out there, which teach you to draw using code only.
I think that the stickman himself could be a little smaller, because I feel that at the moment he is too big for the size of the game screen, which is not necessary. The music was good and it suited a game like this.
Overall, you should improve on the graphic part of the game. Keep up the good work and you can accomplish a lot!
