Hi guys! well I recently got adobe flash, something that I've always wanted since seventh grade, so now I can finally animate something myself!! Marking this video as not only my very first video upload, but also I did a cartoon!! X3
Okay, I know what some of you may think; "God this cartoon sucks, why did I waste my time watching this??"
Well here are my Answers just to remind you of why this is what it is, possibly answering some of your questions..
1.) Q: Why is it so short? A: Well I really just wanted to play around with adobe, but not too much, in order to not make it complicated.
2.) Q: Why dosen't it have any sound? A: To be honest, I haven't even gotten around to playing with the sound and sound probably won't appear untill after my third or fourth cartoon, sorry!
3.) Q: Why does it take so long at times when there is no need to be long.. at times? A: I didn't have a clue of how to work the adobe program at the time, but now that I have been experimenting more and more, my next cartoon (which is in the process) will have much more better times between frames, I gurentee it!
4.) Q: Why are the drawings so crappy?? and why are the words all jumbled?? I could do better!! A: I'm sure you could do better, in fact I think ALOT of people can do better! But like I said before in my first answer; I really just wanted to play around with adobe, so please don't take this cartoon seriously! its just a test. I (believe it or not) CAN really draw.

While i'm sure there'll be an angry mob of trolls waiting to rip you a new one for putting up a cartoon which is uncolored, has no sound, nor much plot or depth to it; I respect your current position. If there is in fact a mob of trolls waiting I hope they're all banned, because that sort of personal insult is by no means allowed on Newgrounds.
You must understand that if you are to submit an animation/game to the flash portal it should be a clean polished final product you can be proud of, not experimentation or learning how the program is used.
That being said, I understand this could be something you put some thought into ( You're capable of more, as you've said on your only blog post and in the description since you are going to an institute for the arts. ) you can easily get as much critique as you require for an animation by uploading it to the dumping grounds from your user control panel then putting a link to it on the BBS. ( Newgrounds Forums )
Now that i've dispensed all that useful information about the site.
Remember to use Onion skinning, it allows you to see previous frames on the timeline on the stage, without having to go back to check the frames.
E.G. If you were on Frame 10, and had Onion skinning on, you'd be able to see all the images on frames 7 through 10 on the stage allowing for clearer understanding of where things are and when.
Beyond that, as stated earlier. Sound. Color. Most importantly, a Premise.
Good for a very very first start though, considering what I've seen.

But its definitely better than the first time I did a flash :)
The drawings weren't too bad, but it was choppy. I suggest putting the Frame rate to 24 (FPS), and putting more drawings in between movements.
Add sound. Doesn't matter if it's your first flash, sound always makes a difference.
I got the main idea, but some parts of this weren't clear, and had my questioning eye brow cocked up. Try to make it as clear as possible.
And yeah. Keep going! Practice makes perfect.

So informative in fact, I'd say you were getting down on yourself o.0
And yes as silent, colourless and short as your flash was, it by far was better than watching some crudely drawn sticks with exceptionally bright...sphere things, or pictures being flashed at me with the full intention of causing epileptic seizures with some crap music to accompany it... oh the joys of the usual material that comes into the flash portal.
Nope, I think your doing just fine, and if this is just you playing around and submitting some test work I'm pretty sure your future material will be pretty cool :-D
