For a first... not bad
It's not buggy. Good job. You actually made an effort for a first game.
Now you need to make it decent. The paddle is supposed to aim the ball... even if only a little. Here it doesn't matter whether you hit the right or left side it always bounces cleanly.
Next, you if you use the mouse to aim, you need to indicate somehow where the mouse is. If the mouse slides off the top or bottom of the screen you stop being able to aim... and that sucks.
