well, the player movement is not the best, and its hard from the beginning, it need to be more easy for the player to start with, so we know what the fuck its going on in the game , :/
Hard but simple game)))

Hard but not genuinely fun game. Needs more available terrain. (weapons remove all terrain in front of you) Puppy can't outrun heat seekers.
Could become fun though, so keep at it. =:xB
The balance?
Sometimes you even don't get a chance to play after you just press "r"...
This game is way too hard. Basically if you aren't killed as soon as the game starts, "Steve" will break the most important and valuable platform in the game, which happens to be the first one. Once he destroys it, you're screwed basically. Perhaps making the game easier, adding the dog an animation, and adding music will help increase the enjoyment factor in the game. As far as I can tell you get one "Spawn" block and it either slows him down for a short period of time or he flat out destroys it. Furthermore, the swords and other projectiles he throws are incredibly fast. You've made an alright starts to a game ChickyM, now all you got to do is finish it.
It took me about 30 minutes of a trial/error to complete PuppyRunner, and I have to say that despite a few issues, it's a pretty good game. There is only 1 level here, and it only takes about a full minute to complete, but damn! The author wasn't kidding when they said it was hard.
The game is an auto-scroll. All you can do is press Up to jump, and Down to lay down black blocks that will defend you from attacks. You can also use the black blocks for an extra chance to jump. But it isn't overpowered; you can only use a black block every 5 seconds, and trust me you will need it! A single hit kills you so you'll wind up using the retry button a lot.
The fun parts of this game come from platforming, and anticipation of what projectile is coming after you next. It is amazing thrill trying to dodge them all (though it may be frustrating for the average person).
Now for the parts that are not so great about this game...
- The graphics: they are cheesy pixel blocks. Even the dog looks like a walking tooth.
- When the game begins, it's almost immediate instant death before you can even see your character on-screen. Clicking the retry button in under 10 seconds seems to fix this problem. But it's still an unfair death that cannot be controlled, and needs to be changed entirely.
- No background music.
- The game is too short.
With enough improvements, PuppyRunner is capable of being a 5-Star classic. Add more levels that take place before this one, and make them a little more easier than what they are now. Background music is lacking and should be included, and give the players option to turn it off if they choose. Add instant death pits so that the jump feature becomes more useful. Add doggy bone items that increase your score (all though score will have no impact on anything and is just there for fun). This game is living proof that you don't need a good story for a perfect game. It has so much potential, and would hate to see it all go to waste.
The final verdict was difficult for me to decide because all though it's fun to play, it just ended way too soon, and feels more like a demo than a full game. Had it been longer I would have given it a 7 out of 10. When the issues listed above are fixed the score will increase to a 9 out of 10. For a full 10, the author will need to fix all the issues, and add at least 6 levels total, each with a different designs or scenery. Not every level has to be an old man chasing you around with objects. Mix it up so that it stays interesting. Once all that happens, it will get my full approval. But for now, the game stands at a 6 out of 10! Slightly above average. 6 because it knows how to give you thrills, it knows how tio deliver exciting gameplay, but clearly doesn't deliver enough content, especially with the graphics that it is. I want to see more of this game, and when that happens, PuppyRunner will truly shine.
Final Verdict: 6 out of 10
NG Rating: 3-Stars
