The Flash Flash Video Game (Demo)

With the Mirror Master making his first appearance on TV's The Flash (2014) this evening, I decided to upload this project I made back in college. It's a demo for what was supposed to become a much larger project with approximately 3 more stages. Quick race to the finish line against Mirror Master and his doppelgänger mirrored images. Can our thunderstruck hero The Flash beat the clock and save the day? Only you can decide!

Keyboard up and down to avoid Mirror Master's tricks.

(Always double-click to start. Might be a few bugs otherwise.)

this is amazing great gameplay, can you finish the level though. Bravo what software did u use

DarkDeco responds:

Thanks mate. It's encouraging to here you enjoyed it so much. I used Adobe Flash. Hence the title "The Flash Flash Video Game". This level's pretty much done, minus the small bugs. It's meant to be a short 30 second 'race against the clock' finish. I added a brief intro to the level (not included here), for what was going to be a 4-stage game. Unfortunately, I never found a work around for the small bugs on this stage, and stage 2 went into developer hell...I really would have to find someone with more ActionScript 3.0 knowledge to to complete the project. :/

It's not out of the realm of possibility, but don't expect it any time even remotely soon. The concept is there for all 4 stages, and the second stage (featuring Captain Cold) was actually in the works, it's just above my skill set, and I don't have the time to improve it anymore, haven't worked in this field in a long time now (outside of very sparingly recreationally)

Who knows, maybe someday I'll have the time/resources and put a full game out maybe when The Flash movie comes out or it's sequel, lol.

Umm... some instructions would be nice. All I ended up doing was just running into Mirror Man and staying there until I died. The music also is kinda annoying with the vocals. However, it is quality enough to be considered a good game. Just please next time include some instructions without having the player giving a clueless guess.

DarkDeco responds:

Thanks for the feedback, I added brief instructions to the introductory comments. Pretty standard up and down arrow key movement. I never got around to adding an instructions page, as originally this was a 4 stage concept, and the gameplay would have varied slightly on a couple of those stages. Idealistically, something like that would've been included. I was never able to work out some bugs with this stage (the Mirror entity's properties needed to be properly changed) and the intro (weird double-start glitch, if you only click once it doesn't recognize that you're still on the page until you click again), and the second stage proved quite problematic to code. My ActionScript is very so-so.

Good game, but it has some problems, hit boxes are off, no explanation for the controls, every time you die you have to wait for the long intro. I really like the game though.

It's nice to see fans committed to make a game after 2 hours from the episode's release, Keep it up ;)
