Dog and Pony Show

An animated rendition of my comic "Dog and Pony Show":

Not my most sincere effort to animate. Simple. But it was practice to learn to use Toon Boom Premium and Adobe Premiere and Audition. Making this was extremely, EXTREMELY helpful.

Admittedly, "attacking" any sort of old battlefield with no enemy will lead to the same result. It's when camera crews are brought in that the true "Dog and Pony Show" begins. I drew this comic in response to the absurd amount of media attention the Korean Peninsula garnered during the Twitter War between President Trump and Kim Jong Un during late 2017. My unit is one of the forward deployed infantry regiments that operates in the Pacific and as such, we were at the front of the media's foretold "World War 3". While normally we would simply train with the South Koreans, as we had for decades prior, the media suddenly had interest in the region and brought their weapons of war: cameras. The result was endless repetitions of the same exercises for the camera's, 1 of which was because the anchor was worried about his hair.

This was funny but did not match what you wrote. This could have been funnier if you had animated the story you wrote. Like if the reporter kept asking them to re-enact the war because it missed a shot because it was busy with its hair. I think there was G.I. Joe episode where they were consultants on movie & cobra showed up to create a real battle that all the cameras either missed or were destroyed.

aggimajera responds:

I don’t doubt it. The only reason I wrote what I wrote was to explain the background so the joke could be understood. This cartoon was more made for my buddies I was there with. They all loved the joke, so my intent was accomplished. Thank you for the feedback!

Terrifying accurate. I follow military shitposters on Twitter and this is exactly what it looks like

aggimajera responds:

Yeah, I had to live it.

Hilarious stuff

Loved it!
