So it's Tetris but without the interest and strategy, replaced with eye-seering clipart, terrible peppy music, deafening sound effects, and butchered, half functioning controls.

Not really Tetris, Tetris + match3. This is just a prototype, music and effects can be easily changed. Controls may have seemed uncomfortable because you played on a computer with a mouse, try playing on your smartphone.
