I really enjoyed a lot of aspects of this once I figured out how to play. With some adjustments this could be excellent. I'd love to be able to share my highscore, regenerate health. etc.
After a long time i managed to finish my second game, and i only had to cut like half the features!
For real now, this was made more than a year ago, i just didn't bother to upload it because lack of motivation i guess.
I know flash is kinda outdated at this point, and it doesn't even help with this kind of game. (In testing i found flash really doesn't like when you have around 500 objects in screen, 450-ish is fine tho)
And now for the game, at least what i remember of it.
The game is in a much more finished state that i remember and i only had to do minor balancing tweaks.
You have to use your towers to build a maze, the enemies come from the gray rectangles in the corners, which ones they come from depends on the difficulty.
It shouldn't be too hard to notice the inspirations for this game if you know the games of the genere, specially if you also know the ones that are in this website.
The big structure in the middle is what you have to defend, you can not cover it completely in walls because then you wouldn't have a game.
The game does have hotkeys.
You can pause the game with SPACE
Place multiple of the same towers with SHIFT
There is a key for each tower, IIRC they are:
Backspace to sell a tower.
1 2 3 4
Q W E R
A S
in the order they appear in the selection.
The towers can be upgraded, there is a cool system where you have multiple upgrades that each do distinct things, some upgrades are required to unlock others and some upgrades lock you out of other upgrades too.
The buttons labeled 1 2 3 4 in the upgrades panel are targeting modes.
1 shoots at the target closest to your base
2 targets the strongest enemy it can
3 shoots at the target closest to the tower
4 lets you manually aim the tower.
Selling towers gives back their full value, minus a penalty.
The penalty starts at zero but increases exponentially each time you sell a tower. This is to stop players from doing an exploit found in some similar game(s) that lets them juggle the enemies forever.
There probably are a lot of bugs, balancing issues, and possibly a way that i didn't catch to cheese the AI, but hopefully the game isn't broken.
May fix it if the game turns out to be broken, or may not idk.
Oh wow i didn't expect to write such a description
