This is a nice concept and well-executed.
I don't have the space-scrolling issue, maybe it's browser-specific (chrome for me). But it's very possible that it was indeed just a focus issue.
The game would benefit from:
- Some save function or checkpoint, so I can close it and resume later (the 'quit' option doesn't do anything?)
- Additional music tracks for variation
Some smaller issues I found:
- When I press S to move down in the menu, the slime splats as well
- Can't see slime meter outline when background is black
- It often ignores my 'W' keystroke. I think it's because my crappy hardware causes a mediocre framerate, and my W press is quicker than a frame.
I just mention these things to help, they don't detract much from the game.
The best part of this is how the graphics succesfully convey the feeling that it splotches everywhere.
