A really extensive summer project I made last year, about a little chicken that goes on misadventures.

I didn't really have a goal with this one, except to further develop my animation and filmmaking capabilities. So I completely understand if its really difficult to stay invested considering so many ideas are bounced around here. I decided to dip my toes in a bunch of different techniques like hiding secret references, learning stop motion, CG camerawork and environments, new animation styles, etc. It's definitely a mess but a mess I'm really proud of. In the future though, I do want to work on something that will keep people invested.

I made this a year ago and released it on YouTube where you can find it here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MadJdZa-6QU. I never really thought about putting it here until now but yeah, here it is, for the five people interested.

Made using Flipaclip and Blender.

Music and SFX by me, mixed and edited using FL Studio 20

Credits to OMOCAT for OMORI references I included in this short.

It´s good.I like the perspective play at the beginning and the Omori fight. Though, you could have shown them doing a bit more during it. Still is pretty interesting.Seems a lot of people these days are coming onto the site to show off their works these days.

BreadKing responds:

Hey there, thanks for enjoying!! I agree with you, that I should have made the fight more involved, and actually animate some portions of the fight. To be honest, this whole film was just me randomly and impulsively doing whatever ideas came in my head lol, so that's why its pretty all-over-the-place.

Loved the creativity and experimentality of this, especially the specific animations by the bird. some parts were drawn out like the Omori reference, but other than that I quite liked this. The sound design and music fit the bill as well.

BreadKing responds:

Hey there, thanks so much for watching! I do agree the Omori reference was drawn out, and its become a pet peeve of mine now when I rewatch this short. My main issue was I tried to be as close as possible to actual Omori gameplay which really hindered the pacing of this animation. Definitely something I'm gonna improve upon in future works (emphasis on future because Im in college now lol). Thanks so much for the kind words!
