A newly discovered lost Skitzo cartoon "Sky High Dive" was released in 1919 when news of the first individual ripcord parachute began to appear. Old records indicate that copies of the cartoon played in various theaters in Chicago, IL (the windy city!)

The effects of the cartoon were devastating, and viewers who saw this cartoon in its whole state would complain of constant heart jumps and uncontrollable screaming. The final stages would drive the viewer mad and go careening off buildings and freefall to their doom. It's not known what the true death count was, but it's estimated at least 45 people may have fallen victim to this film before the screenings stopped. All copies were hastily burnt.

Animation historians discovered this remnant in a tin box wedged between the old building bricks of an abandoned theater in Chicago, set for demolition. Encrusted with red rust, it was sealed shut from air exposure and thus preserved this tiny bit of nitrate film....however, a full version has never been found.
