JANUARY UPDATE OUT (ver. 250125)

Thanks to everyone who played the game and to everyone who gave me a feedback about it! I tried with this update to solve most of the issues reported in the comments, so let me know if you still have troubles running the game.

  • HUGE INTERFACE REDESIGN

That was by far the biggest issue. The code which handles the GUI has been rewritten from scratch and it now fits the Newgrounds window. The starting screen with the scale adjustment has been deleted as it's not necessary anymore.

Interface windows are now brighter for a better readability and buttons light up when you hover over them.

  • DESCRIPTIONS

To make the us of units and builings more clear to the players a brief description has been added in the selection box with the cost. In case of the units, it has also been added the unit's cost in population resource.

  • ZOOM LEVELS

It's now possible, thanks to the new interface, to zoom in and out separately both the game area and the minimap using your keyboard, in order to adapt the game window to everyone's preferences.

  • HOMESTYLER

When building a house you can now rotate between the different building styles with your keyboard.

  • FAKE PLASTIC TREES

In the previous build there was a problem with workers getting stuck on the rivers while trying to chop down trees they couldn't even reach. Now the trees located in unreachable places in the map have been replaced with fake scenic trees. You won't notice the difference, your workers will.

  • MINOR FIXES

Other fixes include issues with the trees representation on the minimap, with some animations and game mechanics.

Enjoy!

Build a city, manage its economy and wage war against your enemies. If you're familiar with more famous rts games you won't find difficult to play this game as the core mechanics are very similar.

The view is isometric but the game runs on a 2d engine. Every building and animation is drawn frame by frame. The game also features a day-night cycle affecting the visibility of the units, lighting effects and multiple path finding.

In the first demo mission your objective will be to learn the game through a brief tutorial, to build and defend your town from the enemies and finally to defeat all their bases.

Sorry, unplayable for me right now so I can't rate much. No level of zoom will help, if you scale your assets to the window it will always display properly, this will also help you when you reach the point where you want to allow a fullscreen option, or different resolutions in settings.

MountFujiSoftware responds:

I'm sorry about the issues you're experiencing, I'm working on a big update for the game to set it on the correct scale, sadly as I mentioned in other replies the GUI was designed for another website which managed the scaling part differently. Also looking forward to implement a fullscreen mode, hope to update it soon

here's issue i found
units sometimes walk around north river or stuck between units. it interferes movements
building menu disappear sometimes
otherwise it's really enjoyable game. i spend 5 hours for this thing this game has really great potential

MountFujiSoftware responds:

Thanks! It means a lot to me :)
About the bug you found: I think the units walking around the river is due to the workers trying to reach the trees over the river to gather wood, but since it's impossible I'm thinking about replacing them with "fake" scenic trees. The building menu disappearing is an issue I thought I already solved, but probabily there is some case scenario I didn't consider..

Really zoomed in takes up more than the screen, but it is awesome!

MountFujiSoftware responds:

Thanks :) I'm working on an update which should solve both the scaling and the screen size issues, unfortunatly the way Newgrounds' website handles the game frame is different from other websites where i uploaded the game

Unfortunately, scroll zooming in and out on Edge on Windows 10 doesn't fix the overlapping issue.

MountFujiSoftware responds:

I think it's the way newgrounds websites handles the "frame" more than the browser's fault.. Try to press ENTER on the start screen to play it anyway, probably it will be a bit more zoomed in but still playable
