Reviews for "Black Jack"

nice...

Though I'm not sure this is truly your own, if it is, it's pretty good. There are a couple problems however. You bankroll can go negative for instance. The betting window, cannot be typed into. It can only go up using the arrows. Quite annoying if I may say so. And you seem to get 18 fairly often. Not sure whether that's just my luck or the game. Other than tha, it's good. And a light submission, makes it all the better.

uhh...

simple but fun i enjoyd it

Finally, a casino in our very own homes!

Well I must say, I’m impressed with your idea! This concept of game is an original, I’ve never seen anyone else make a decent “Blackjack” game on the NG and it’s one of those things we’ve been waiting for. Finally we can play this casino type card game In our very own homes without the gambling of money :) It could still do with a few improvements though…
First off, graphics. Not too shabby, I like the casino feel of the game especially with the detailed green background and virtual card table. The big red font when you lose or win also really helps to set the dramatic mood of the game, and I appreciate it. It either gives one of joy when you win or a boasting feel when you lose, and a pretty funny 'in your face' feel with that giant red font and those exclamation marks! In all honesty I feel there isn't much to improve on here, I mean how can you it's a card game? This kind of game doesn't need pretty looks that much since it's the cards we focus on; but you made it look good anyway which is always a plus, the cards look good, it looks dramatic (and that's pretty hard to pull off, especially with a card game because they usually aren't very exciting) and has an accurate gambling feel to it. The only things you could improve on if you wanted to, is that you could have little pictures of money chips that pile up the more you wager, and the view of the card table could be a little more 3D from a person's point of view with a dealer behind the table, the cards would be laid out at an angle in front of you. This would give the game a more exciting feel, but this isn't necessary.
Sound unfortunately is where this game really needs spicing up. To be fair I can’t actually give sound a score because it has none, to be honest playing a card game (one that is normally tense and exciting) without sound really dampens the game-play a little and, like the action is a little 'mute' or something. You definitely need sound if you are going to create another version of this, don’t worry this flash still gets a good score but without sound this isn't as fun to play as it could be, and I feel you need to change this because this game has good potential. Suggestions are obvious here - add background music into the game, preferably more suitable music to the game such as 'casino' music, and/or you could just add a selection of music for the audience to choose from. Perhaps which is less obvious though, you could add some sound effects? First off the bog standard sound effects when you win or lose to create a satisfying effect of triumph or a dramatic and annoying one if you lose. Not only this but if you added a virtual dealer the dealer could read out the numbers on the cards and could comment when you lose, and also some sound effects when he lays down the cards and when you pick your wager.
Finally, game-play. Fortunately this is where this game shines and this outweighs that much-needed sound. The game-play is all accurate with the 'hit', 'deal', 'stay' and 'double' buttons for a proper Blackjack game. You've done anything in the right way and I don't really think you can be any more interactive here, it's a game more of logic and luck rather than action and fast-paced action. You really should 'taunt' the player when he/she loses, make the dealer exclaim and the cards to be laid out quickly ion a half circle when you lose, it gives us that 'just one more go' effect, and the game is already pretty addicting because it's Blackjack. Other than this the only thing you really can do is to add music buttons to select music, and perhaps you could add some more little casino mini-games in and record how many times the player can keep winning the game without losing in a row.
Overall the best casino game on NG. But some much-needed sounds are absolutely essential to make a sequel of this advance and to give it an original and exciting feel. I hope to see more of this type of thing from you, well done :)
