Reviews for "The Halloween Hunt"

COOL!

Hey man, just wanted to say thank you for using my music in your flash. You made it fit very well at the opening of the first level.

The game is superbly made, and very challenging. Great work.

It's been said before...

...but i have to agree. the difficulty curve is waaaay too steep. If i can kill every enemy i come across in one hit, i shouldnt die after one or two hits from the boss. i should beable to at least hold my own against him. Especially that last boss; damn him! I didnt finish the game because i dont have the patience to fight random battles that earn me 36 halloween coins everytime. I also have to agree with the weapons complaints; you cant tell ifyou're using a stronger one or not. Still, it kept me hooked for over an hour, so nice job. A few tweaks in the gameplay, and this'll be one hell of a good game.

its like marmite, you either love it or hate it!

Finally a RPG worth a reviwers time and comment.
Its an addicitve game once you get going and i completed it after
1 hour 15 mins my levels were level 9 battle mode, and levels 17 to all stats.
Overall i was impressed with the whole game system and i think you can make bigger and better RPGs in the future.
But unfortunatly (brace yourself) here comes THE criticism about the things you could of improved had you not been stretched for time.....

THE ENERMIES- you need to make a bigger selection of enermies because after a while the mind gets bored and starts to wander. You could limit certain enermies in the game to specific parts of the level and show a health counter so your not guessing half the time what percentage of damage you have done and how much longer you have to fight it for.
You could also have them deal status affects to the main character rather than just plain ol' damage.

Also make them give out a certain amount of money aqccording to their level because even in level 5 it would range from 24 coins to 1500 coins, its to random man but you did your best in the time you had

THE MAIN CHARACTER- Give him a name, c'mon the dead deserve some respect! don't they?...... also i wasn't sure if his weapon did any greater or lesser damage because i didn't know if i had switched over his weapon. Give him a variety of different weapons to choose from and to pick up in various levels should you do a sequeal.
Have him combine items, pick up armour, various accessories to protect against negative spells etc.....

THE BOSSES-make them more challenging and scarey especially the dad as he looked like an extra for 'fight club'.
And in the first level quite not so much damage should be dealt by the dragon boss (im guessing) either.

LEVELING UP- After gaining one special ability i didn't have to use the magical and physical attacks anymore because they were sooo weak. The stats spells were a bit on the expensive side and a word to the wise when you level up in the battle stats your openents get stronger so you will have to spend more time fighting random battles, earning money and saving alot so i advise don't go above level 7 because it gets beyond a joke seriously.

Anyway don't hate the playa, hate the game thats whys its called reviews k? i know various reviewers have been going on about the negatives and i have as well, but stuff like 'pimp my christmas tree' i gotta say i have never come accross something like that before lol! so your excellent in all areas, had you had more time on this you would have collected more awards and my review would have been nicer honest!!

You know

It's been a long time since I signed in to make a review but I had to for this one. YOu have created one of my favorite games. However I do have complaints. One is that the weapons did nothing and there was no way to tell if they were even on. Another was not enough characters. Another was the complete randomness of both their hits and the amount of money they left. Another was that sometimes the full amount of cash did not get credited (I won 1303 once and was only given 8). I was able to beat pops in 3 hits with stats of 7, 17, 15, 14, and 17 respectively. Took me a while. Also I would love to see a hitpoint scale on enemies. Basically fix these problems and stay along the lines of this game and your next game should be perfect. Love the game keep up the great work but try and fix some problemshere.
Oh The defense ability did not seem to work at all so maybe next time include some potions and maybe some simple armor like pendants or bracelets or something. I don't think full body armor would be too good of an idea siunce that can eat up alot of space programing so try and keep it simple but definately work on weapons and how they look on the character.
Can't wait for the next one man. Anxious as hell to play it

Good, but..

I want the last hour and a half of my life back. Leveling up for the last boss isn't worth it- if i had known so little would be at the end, i wouldn't have taken the hour and a half of leveling to kill the guy. Other than that, the music looped a bit short, the grafics were ok, the interactivity had some major flaws. This game could go right up to a 9 with a little work. Make a sequel, get away from the halloween theme a bit, and take your time- lots of potential for this game.
