The DBZ sounds were recorded via microphone by listening to other's flashes that had them, but not music.
The slashing sounds were from using the mike in front of the TV while using Super Smash Bros. Melee's sound test.
The voices were done the same way, but by playing Tales of Symphonia with the voices turned up and the sounds & music off.
