Thank you mercy_killer for making this movie. Before this I could only make the poorest of pre-loaders but now I can make descent ones with ease. This (as mad_stylez said) will really help lots of flash newbies. Plz make some more as I am very comfused with flash. Thank you once again.

thanks it really helped me out. only one problem: how do you test to see if the loading bar is actually working?
Use CTRL+ENTER to test your movie.
Once the movie has popped up, hit CTRL+ENTER again and flash will load it as if it were being loaded over 56k modem. (Applies to Flash 5 - I don't have Flash MX to check this still works.)
To give you movie some extra size... for testing the preloader... you can import a wav file or picture.

Very easy to follow! Plenty o' screenshots and you even used the tutorial's preloader to load the movie, haha. Very good. I couldn't understand anyone else's tutorial's worthless drivel. Thanks a lot.
