Reviews for "Certain Defeat"

I dont know, man

I read your audio advertisement. Definitely doesn't deserve to be "0" voted down. Pretty decent dude. What program did you use for this.
The percussion was really awesome. I liked the strings too. It sounded like reason, but I have that program and cant find that good of percussion. I liked the effect backing the drum roll near the end. Good stuff.

You should check out the rap parody we did.

I voted 5 but It only went to 3.00.

Damn 0 voters...curse their scurvy hides!
All the answers to your questions are in a review I left to your rap parody...that thing is gold!

Awesome

Hey dj_padman1

I've been listening to your works for a while now, regretably not leaving many reviews. This piece is very well orchestrated, paints the mood effectively. As if you are seeing through the eyes of the fallen, watching a corrupt kingdom being torn from the inside out, lacerating the ambitions, not to forget, the heads of those too weak to oppose the strong...

so many images I could tell you, many of which I can't without some form of image ;).

the melody that starts at 1:08 is just so damn moving, so evil, so dark.

5/5 from me dj_padman, keep them coming. I'm not totally defeated, i'll still hang around, drop by every once in a while to leave reviews.

Very nice sound effects, especially that rusty swing kinda sound near the beginning.

dj-padman1 responds:

Hey, here's the man himself!
Well, first of all, thanks for your reassurance that you will indeed be gracing the AP in the future. Lol, yeah, the song title is no reflection on your status here ;)
Thanks for your kind review, most appreciated. And if you heard about this track from the 'publicity forum' please pardon my French. I was really mad that this track that actually had a purpose would be so viciously cut down, even more than usual...
Thanks again for dropping by Maestro. :)

I write classical/orchaestral in my spare time

The song is very nice, very well thought out =) gives me the image in my head of someone being dragged to the chopping block, with him screaming, fighting, only to hope to stay alive. The music gest stronger, they get closer, he fights even harder. The people dragging him are heartless though... heartless machines. They then drag him into the arena, with the block in the middle. A snare begins to roll, and then... its over.

Damn good song. As nice and creepy as it was, it wasn't very wel structured? Or at least it felt like it. It didn't feel like there was a definate pattern? Maybe it was intentional, meh, whatever. You 10s across the board, you REALLY deserve it this time =)

dj-padman1 responds:

Great story! thats what I like to hear when I try some classical :)
Structure..yeah....I really need to get up to speed on that, I was going for some transitions in mood but it didn't quite come off.
Next time should be better if I can spare 7 minutes for my fancy string samples to lod up :)

cool

i liked this one better than ur other classical cause of the sound effects...wat program did u use? low strings were cool

dj-padman1 responds:

Hey man, its been a while :)
I used Kontakt 2 sampled instruments and the percussion and fx and stuff were the Orchestral drumkit with Battery 2. I'm still figuring out how to use all the features. i should have it pretty much covered by 2009.
Cya!

certain defeat

well, that very nice of you to have such a heart.
great song, exept the intro. try sticking with a one precution instrument intro.

dj-padman1 responds:

lol :)
thanks for the review. I kind of enjoy a jumble of percussion though!
