Reviews for "Overcome"

Well, isn't this the cheesiest of cheesy. The Intro i was like "oh my what is this?" Then the lead synth with a delay comes in and I'm like "ok..I know where this is heading." haha
I like those synth chord jabs, it felt wide, and really complimented the lead.

At 1:48 you threw in a nice gesture. Was that the same lead altered differently?

at 2:40 till the end when it picks up was really nice and my fav part. as well as the lo fi intro
this will surely be stuck in my head every time I listen to it. Well done cheesy man. :)

johnfn responds:

Heh, I think 1:48 was the same synth with a bandpass. Bandpasses 4 LIFE.

I'm glad you liked it :> it is somewhat cheesy, but who cares??

Great for a level of... well.... you know.... 5 stars!

johnfn responds:

A level of... GAMES FOR GAMERS?!?

I thought to myself, well, who is this guy reviewing my song? haha. So I came here and this is the first song I hear from you and MY GOD, you are so good! This reminds me a lot of those early songs from Sonic the hedgehog but with a lot better quality and style. Although very different from what I do, I think it's awesome!!

johnfn responds:

Hahaha. I'm glad I can make a good first impression. >:D

I really hope to hear more music from you! You know, I just realized, your track reminds me ever so slightly of "He's Simple, He's Dumb, He's the Pilot" by Grandaddy. You should definitely check it out. I'm sure you'd love it :D

"Outrageously catchy" --> This, I can confirm! I really like the progression of this piece, especially around :30 - :45, and the lounge jazzy vibes at :47 (and other places) added a lot to the piece. As usual, the mixing is really good. I thought that the kick could've been just a bit stronger at times, but that's a pretty tiny detail. Obviously, these are engrossing melodies, and I love the arpeggios at 2:38 (and other places). This piece has a really cool energy about it that you've really highlighted in a lot of your recent tracks. I love it! Keep up the great work, Johnfn. ;D Looking forward to hearing your NGADM track. ^^

johnfn responds:

Just wait until you hear my NGADM piece its EVEN CATCHIER HA HA HA HA HA

One of my favs :D

johnfn responds:

Awesome!
