Thanks for the great review!
I thoroughly enjoyed this. The sound effects were really my favorite part. The subtle noises each character made, the footsteps...it all shaped together to really bring your animation to life. I enjoyed your art style, and it was relatively smooth for the most part.
I felt it was the perfect length, and the story was simple but meaningful.
If I had to pick one thing that "bugged" me, it would have been the "passing" of time when the camera is focused on the sun. Visually, it was a little jerking. I wasn't sure at first if it was a "day" that was passing or a "month" through a whole moon phase. The whole "shift" between "sun" and "moon" just wasn't very clear or interesting. Something just seemed off about it and I can't put my finger on it. But even still, it was a nice touch when combined with everything else.
Very good work, keep working hard, keep releasing polished content, there is bucket loads of potential and talent here :3
I completely agree about the sun/moon - it was just supposed to be a symbol of time passing, it doesn't really matter how much. I'll have a think and see if I can find a better way of symbolising that. Thanks for the detailed review!
Wow this was great. I like your style, it's something I haven't seen before! I am nowhere near your level of animating, but if I had done this I think I would've drawn a park environment around the characters, and as soon as they notice each other, fade into the grey background that you have to show that they're only fixated on each other. I also really enjoy the silence and small verbal gestures between them, keeps you drawn into what's actually happening in the animation. Keep it up, seriously. I hope you win and look forward to what you put out next :-)
That's a nice idea about the background - if I have time before the competition deadline I might just add that in! Thanks for the review!
Very nicely done! I love it!
Thankyou very much!
