And this was BEFORE shit started to go downhill...
Shit's gotten pretty bad since 2016, but the 2020s have so far been ABYSMAL for gaming. 9th gen's probably the worst generation I've ever seen.
Generic open-worlds with nothing new about them, constant microtransactions, overpromising and underdelivering, crunch time, same environments... There was a decline, but I would've honestly preferred this fictional decline over the real one...
Thank God for indies, though...
games definantley declined, but in a completely diffrent way than this predicted.
It’s a shame that now we are in fact living in the Decline of Video Gaming because of shitty DLC and micro transactions. However this video involving the Decline of Video Gaming looks way more fun than the reality of it. Reasons this Decline is better than the real one we’re living in is because physical copies are still a big deal, no DLC or micro transactions and the fact that (In this universe) Konami is still making console video games. Personally I think the “bad” video games in this video look a lot more fun than most games that come out these days. I’d play the games in this video over most games that come out these days. That’s another reason I mostly play old retro video games.
