The numbers 1-6 change your spells, once you get them. You don't get the first spell until you reach the first town. If you did get there, and it doesn't work, then it's a bug.
good game
fun i love the flow of the game and the options of which path to take to get to the end......
good time waster i lost track of time while playing...keep the good work coming!!
The way that 2nd path on the right works is that the green skeletons have the potential to knock you in, forcing you down the tougher path with more monsters and traps.
Thanks for the review!
Good game
The style and game world are well made. I don't care for the story line, or plot, so I just skip it. One thing I have a huge problem with is the choppiness. It can get very laggy at certain jumps, and it makes it very difficult to control your character -- this was so much of a problem for me that I closed the game prematurely. If this was fixed I think this game will make it to the front page, but only IF it is is corrected.
Solid
The game was a bit choppy. I couldnt get used to the changing of the weapons so frequently. The gameplay was generally fun though.
Armor games are always fun
You shouldn't have to change weapons much at all; generally, the most powerful weapon is the right one. And on a load, it should equip your most powerful automatically. If you mean changing spells, then yes, it can get a bit tough especially in the heat of battle, but you should be able to pick it up fairly quickly. The problem is there's no easy way to do it; if I do two buttons that just cycle, it can also get tough with players having to 'search' for the spell they want. Not sure how I'll fix that.
Really good, could use a few tweaks, though
A "life" system would be extremely helpful. The passcode thing is good, but being able to fight a boss without going through the entire level again would be good.
Also, a way to duck would be great. In the first level, there were a lot of times when I was on a ledge one "square" above an enemy that kept walking right towards me. There was no way to hit it from my vantage point, and if I jumped down to attack him, I was almost automatically hit. Slowing down the "homing" ability of the enemies a bit, or adding a duck/slash feature would help with that a lot.
Great stuff, though! All your work really shows.
In later levels, lightning works well for hitting enemies that are 'just over the edge' like that. Most enemies are not fast enough to catch you right away if you to a running jump off those cliffs, and those that are can generally jump the ledge anyway to come at you. Still, those types of skills will be in BM2.
