Was this about someone deluding himself into thinking there's a (desirable) afterlife and committing suicide? Because if you decipher the facades of what pretend to be deep metaphors, that suspiciously seems like what it's about to me. It is a game with a complicated map, I'll give you that. If Warren Robinett had megabytes to work with when he made Adventure instead of like 4 kilobytes, I imagine he'd have made something a little more sophisticated like this.
