It's a very addictive game but the shield detach isn't very useful and there is no easy way to pause. But aside from that it's a very good game.
I liked the game style, altough I thing the shield detachupgrade is a little useless. It seems to make the game harder.

Very nice game! And quite addictive - although this is partly b/c I couldn't find how to pause it... :)
... which is its main fault I think. I didn't see any instruction how to pause, just guessed at some point that moving the mouse outside the game screen would do it (Now I wonder about full-screen mode). I also didn't notice the little settings button - would've liked keyboard shortcuts for both - and am not sure I understood how I see damage I'm taking and what happens when I take too much (going back a wave as it seems). It's also not explained which enemies are armored and which aren't.
Besides that, I'm not a micro-management enthusiast (so I guess I'll pass on the hard mode), but I should say that it wasn't too bad during the game, I just moved some energy to/from shields on occasion.
I did like the ability to switch weapons, which is a significant change from "classical" games of this type. There was an interesting variety of enemies, and it's good that upgraded weapons can take out enemies in less shots than before the upgrade (could stop flashing the EXP bar once I've reached maximum level, though :)) And removing the boss from the background picture when it attacks you in the end, now that's a nice touch :)
