I can tell you I'm really glad to see Mrmilkcarton made the top 5. Well deserved. I don't kn ow about the others as Milk's is the only one I've heard so far. :p

I'm impressed by the Top 5 this time, although not too much. The 1st one was good but I felt that it had too much reverb, the third one's very generic and sounds just like all the other Trance songs (which is why I don't like Trance that much), and the 4th and 5th were obviously very well done but I never really liked Hip-Hop anyway. My favourite would be the second one :3.
Overall the Top 5 was above-average compared to some of the other Top 5's, in my opinion, but I know of other songs which deserve the Top 5 more than some of the songs above.

I've only heard one of them (MINDMINER) and I'm really glad that's on there. F-777 was expected, as he had a new song out. I haven't heard the rest.
I would like to make mention that Blackhole12 made weekly top five simply because he put his song under the Latin category. Which to be honest I find to be more than a little shameful because the only thing you are expected to do when submitting audio is pick the correct genre your song represents. I know this sorta thing is done a lot, but it was blatantly obvious this time around. And to see other audio regulars promoting it whenever he said within his author's comments that he was doing this rubbed me the wrong way greatly. I just find it very hypocritical for audio people here to bitch about the audio portal being "broken", and then turn around and help people who are working the system in ways that they originally complained about. Hooray for hypocrisy!
Also, I love SBB's submission. Probably should be #1 in all honesty. It's a great song that has a lot of unique attributes. Not the sort of thing you hear everyday on Newgrounds.
I must admit I had my song in the Miscellaneous genre until today, because I really wanted that song to have a chance at the top 5. Anything in Industrial is bombed to pieces, quite literally. So I won't blame Blackhole12 even though he did it in a more comically obvious way :)
Now for what I think of the songs:
The song alone is shit, anyone can do stuff like that. But it belongs to an awesome, hyper-popular flash submission, so it's only fair I think.
I find this branch of the trance genre... well, boring. Same chord progression throughout the song, even the break is the same, just with some sounds muted and perhaps a few elements added, uninspired and common sounds... not my cup of tea. Isn't it also a bit fast for dance music? That last bit isn't criticism, heh... Please don't take it personally Blackhole12 :(
Did I miss something? I don't think using random samples from games (or did he make them himself? Doesn't matter) is funny or even creative anymore. What a steaming pile of shit.
Ok I actually like this one, even though it is extremely repetitive happytrance. It isn't loaded with noisy elements *cough*, so the production is airy and crystal clear. This is definitively ear-candy. Thank God there's no pan flute :D.
I'm incredibly happy to see my song up there. It's been a year and a week since last time. I won't say anything about the song except I love it.

Certain genres I can understand. Industrial, indie, and classical rock mainly because two of those genres have one guy dominating them, probably through epic zero bombing. And like you said, industrial just gets raped.
But trance isn't in that position. Trance songs make top 5 every week it seems. I think what annoyed me most though was seeing other Newgrounds audio regulars promoting it. Mainly because of all the whining about guys like that a-rest for "ruining" the indie genre by working the system. This would be a kettle calling the pot black situation?

Don't forget classical. I personally beleive there are a couple people that try to dominate the classical genre, anything that get's above 10th place get's 0'd. I've been tempted to switch out my tracks but I just have to remember, if I want to get up there legit I'll just have to write something even 0 bombers want to 5. I also keep in mind the popular genre is electronica and a large amount don't care so much for classical guitar, so it probably won't happen.

Totally agree with you. One of my classical songs got around 5 0-votes in one night (from 12 votes to 17 votes, it started at 4.99 and ended at 4.00).

Well, I only have 42 fans so I doubt I'll be getting a Top 30 anytime soon. Good to see aliaspharow's music in the Top 30 though, he definitely deserves it.

I got several top30s with my alt when it had like 40 fans or something. So not really.
I might be wrong of course, but it worked for me so far :P
