It's Minecraft. It will make some kind of profit even if it's not a huge one. I'm gonna go watch it not because it looks good nor do I even like Minecraft but because it just looks so weird.

i wouldnt really bet on the movie being a huge success but who knows
Probably break even, considering their taste.
Add mixed reviews and voila, mashed... something... I dunno.
It'll have some degree of success, but likely mixed reviews. That's my prediction.

Although I never watched the trailer itself, I feel like Minecraft should not be made into a movie since the whole game should be about imagination, as making a whole plot could ruin it all. Of course as of late, Hollywood in general has been making shitty movies in general with a few exceptions. So if this is an exception, only time will tell, but I am not going to see it most likely.
SO does it mean we own Minecraft story mode an apology?
I would say, we owe Minecraft story mode an apology due to... It tried and takes advantage of its universe. This looks like a more soulless Jumanji clone. Clearly for nobody...

Minecraft looks great, but runs like utter crap on Java edition. Minecraft's style is iconic
projecting around $20 mil - $34 mil on opening weekend.
Best regards

Do kids play Minecraft when Fortnite and Roblox are still going?
Oh absolutely, my little sister loves the game

and just like that, $100 million at the box office.
In box office terms, the movie should do fine. Based on the popularity of the game, maybe a worldwide gross of $400-500 million, so on par with Godzilla x Kong.
It has a decent release date. Two weeks after Disney's Snow White remake, and two weeks before the Michael Jackson biopic with its $150 million budget.
At least one of these movies will hold audiences over until Marvel's Thunderbolts comes out in May.
I found the actors costumes pretty fun, I'm curious and interested hahahaha
But the 3d, I think is a joke, I think is all gonna end in a joke or a commercial move campaign
i swear, you guys are making me want to watch the movie, even if just to see how bad it'll be
I've got low hopes for success with the Minecraft movie. Sure, it might be a commercial success based on brand recongnition and Jack Black alone but considering the uncanny difference between the characters and the scenery as well as some of the creators having stated "this movie isn't for you" to actual Minecraft fans .....
I don't think the reviews are gonna be glowing, let's just say that.
Look at him go in that go-kart!
but this the OG Minecraft movie for me:
Considering people are talking about it a lot it definitely seems like a case of "No such thing as bad publicity". Even if it critically flops hard I imagine it'll still be a box office success.
my biggest complaint is the fact that they did this live-action cgi hybrid AND that they just took jack black and put a blue t-shirt on him, like really? you could've atleast tried to cut and colour his hair or beard to look more like steve. like couldn't they have made it look like minecraft story mode? i think it will still succed because kids are gonna hear that there is a minecraft movie and are gonna force their parents to it

I would say... Partially. Fortnite; the game that allows Epic Games to survive.. Though Fortnite seems to have lost its identity, while Roblox... I have mixed feelings with the site as I was raised around its " 2011~2014" era. It was then more like a lego-like builder, but now full on game engine which turns me off partially due to a lack of simple builder games without excessive MTX.
