Cartoons have the luxury of not having to have continuity. Look at last night's episode. Bart and Millhouse wait 2 years to be Playdudes - well, the writer's made Marge do it for the kitchen...

It would be neat if they did keep the kitchen, but think of how many times they screwed up their cars, and they end up with the same old ones. Even with the dents in the front.
