! this is a contest guys, not a commision - stay focused !

Instead of asking should I do this, will you take that? you should consider these steps:

1. Look at his work

2. Think to yourself "If there were to be a theme song of some sort - how would it go..?"

3. Compose - produce - record - whatever

4. Submit...

A winner will be picked - There's nothing wrong with asking for a little direction but just make what you think seems to fit.

Sorry if I'm talking out of turn, I'd just hate to see this contest turn into 30 some-odd people all asking for custom direction to produce a tailored piece of work... Hell we don't need a contest for that...

I think this contest is a great idea and a well engineered one too, and LJC I totally agree with you, hell, what sort of contest would it be if there are just 30 cloned pieces around a central theme, use your imagination people, do some research.
Now I am definately speaking out of term:)

my thoiughts exactly. im going to make a second entry, with better drums, and probly differen guitar...maybee a tad bit longer as well.

In case it hasn't already been said, I think that the winner should get a sig EVERY month in addition to whatever prize you come up with. I also think there should be some kind of prize for second and third place as well, as long as that is not to much work, or presents too much of a problem. After all, I have a feling that with the success of the frist contest, many (like myself), will want to join in, and this thing will get big.

well my sig is vandalised already but wtf i'll pop in Generic tragedy music as my contest entry for mac 6 august. i think it has a war zone feel i may submit somthing else but i think this one could be good cuz of darker strings with an infectious b3at. It has a warzone mentallity even if its a comedy. It is infact an old track however its also a good track. .

This is great! Too bad I missed the deadline for the other contest although I said I was gonna join. ^___^

Well, there IS no judges else than Johnny Utah. He´s making the flash, so he gets to choose what song(s) he wishes to use in His flash.
If there is to be a popular demand of an indepentendt judgement, I will most likley collect the judges by having interested minds PMing me. I´ll let you all know what´s going down, so until then, stay cool and just keep yourself updated of whats going on in this thread! :)

If there is a popular demand on having a independent judgement, i´ll back this up and help out as much as possible. I happen to know that LJCoffee have a great juding system that I personally belive in. Its nothing impossible here, it´s just that this basicly is about Johnny Utah getting to pick and choose specialised audios for his flash! (i bet alot of flash authors would like that oppurtunity, huh? wink wink ;)

There will be updated lists of the submissions, just as the previous ones, so that everyone can see what songs are in the contest.

If you are going to sign up both an old and one new song, PLEASE TRY SIGNING UP BOTH SONGS IN THE SAME POST!!!

(moderators might not like requests like this once in a while, but in this case it´s about a contest, and it is asked for from the topic starter that both submissions is in the same post. This is put up as a contest to attract some competition-feelings amongst the audio-makers, and hopefully people will give their best shot to make an audio that Utah likes and wants in his flash.

One other important thing that gets mentioned in the first post is that this might be an attempt in trying ot bring flash+audio artists closer on this site!

ONE THING I FORGOT TO MENTION IN THE FIRST POST! IMPORTANT!!!!!!
Try to have your audio ready to send to Utah in .WAV format. There are numerous reasons .WAV are to prefer over mp3. Compression and convertion to mp3 usually happens when the flash is exported to .swf. So keep the original in high quality available, just in case!!!

(Utah; if this is inaccurate by some reason, let us know)
