Dawn of War II will be released sometime 2009

Yea already saw the teaser and what not, they said they are releasing it in Spring of 2009. (Thats the initial plan anyways)

Yea I dont think so, and even if they do how they set it up is gonna be complicated as hell because they depend more on wave tactics than the Imperial Guard.

A link would be appreciated, and not just some other forum.

Let's not jump to early conclusions, the Essence engine is up to it, I've seen it in action on Company of Heroes. It can support large numbers of models and high-def terrain.

I prefer a good solid game instead of a botched attempt at appeasing the cunty fans who demand this and that. If anything, four races will most likely be in this game: Space Marines, Orks, Eldar and Chaos Space Marines. The big four go first, the rest sadly comes in second.

I demand Tau at the launch of the game!!!!!

Anyways, well hopefully I get this job here shortly and can start building up a full army. In other news I painted my Ethereal :D

Man I hope I get that invitation to the DOW II Beta, and I am hoping that they get the Guard in there somewhere. ;D But from what they are saying right now it might just be Space Marines and Orks, and I'm always for Marines!!

Don't be a cunt by ignoring the basic thought that in this place all armies and people who play are to be treated equally.

haha, alright, anyways back to warhammer...

My friends and I just played a 3 way game, Tau, Tyranids, Space Marines, and the Tau won!!! YAY!!!

Game lasted about 4 hours, 600 pt armies each.

But yeah, sorry about that Brook, I was just hyper the other day, I really don't care about my post count, I've been here since 05' and I only have about 2,000 post.

I just started collecting, my friend's brother got me into it just a while ago. I haven't got any Ork stuff yet (Hoping to get some for my birthday) but for Orcs and Goblins I have a Shaman, Black Orcs, Boyz and some BFSP goblins.

Two separate launchers unless noted otherwise.

I have MSN but I'm hardly ever on.

Hello, I used to be a warhammer fantasy player a few year ago but have gotten out of the loops because of a WoW addiction. I was thinking of starting playing warhammer 40k but I dont know how to play. I was planning on either buying the battle of maccrage (probably didn't spell that right) or just plain out buying some tyranids.

Is playing 40k similar to fantasy in turn structure (and other important rules)? Also if not could anyone give a short summary? The GW closest to me in cambridge and thats a whiles away from me and all my warhammer pals play fantasy so I was hoping you guys and gals could help me.

Hey guys, it's me. I haven't posted in a while.

Anyway, I'm in the US for summer vacation and I bought a load of 40K books.

Here's the list :

Horus Rising, Fifteen Hours, Desert Raiders, Rebel Winter and Let the galaxy burn.

So far, I've loved all of them. I plan on getting the rest in the Horus Heresy series, and Double Eagle.

Does anyone know how it would be possible to make a conversion for a Word Bearers Dark Apostle (dark Chaplain)? As far as I'm aware, they only have a Chaos Lord plastic kit though.

I have all of those, out of those 3 Imp books you've described I liked Rebel winter the best. What about you mate? I also suggest you get some Ciaphas Cain, some Gaunts Ghosts, and if your up for it The Last Chancers Omnibus. All of those deserve a good look at.

The best one out of the three for me was Fifteen Hours.

I'm also planning to buy the Imperial Infantryman's Uplifting Primer reprint ( The Damocles Gulf Edition). Does anyone know if it's any good? I heard it's pretty funny because of the wrong descriptions of the various alien races and the numerous ways you can get yourself executed .

Though I disagree with that Fifteen Hours was my first book. The Uplifting Primer, well i not sure if its worth a buy but its pretty hilarious. Some of the info they have in there is just comical, while the rest shows just how arrogant the Imperium really is about its enemies. So yea it'd be worth it, but it all depends on if you want it.

Response to Warhammer 40.000 Crew 2008-04-25 15:27:53

The Uplifting Primer is a soldier's handbook, written in the deadpan manner that the Imperium is ruled: ignorant of the bigger picture. A lot like current day America.

Yes, only in 40k you have MOVE - SHOOT - ASSAULT. It might be best to either check the GW site, which shouldn't be hard to find, or get the Battle for Macragge set now, or wait until JUNE and get the new Battle for Black Reach kit that pits marines against Orks.

Macragge features Marines against Nids: A full squad of ten space marines, one crashed shuttle, one lt. Varras, 10 Termagants, 6 Genestealers, 8 Spore Mines and a complete rulebook.

Black Reach will feature:
1- Space Marine Commander (full sprue)
1- Space Marine Tactical Squad (10 models)
1- Space Marine Terminator Squad (5 models)
1- Space Marine Dreadnought

1- Ork Warboss
2- Ork Boyz Mobs (20 models total)
1- Ork Nob Mob (5 models)
3- Death Koptas

Plus dice, rulebook, scenario booklet and counters.

Well, this thread is more for the tabletop game, not Warhammer online or Dawn of War 2. I doubt that Warhammer online will overtake WoW, it might just latch on to people tired of WoW and fans of the franchise.
