Reviews for "Protector IV"

Protector IV

A surprisingly fun mix of RPG and tower defnese. Although I'm not usually a tower defense fan, I played this to completion over on Kongregate and really enjoyed it. Good work on this.

I liked it

this game was fantastic, but i gave it an 8 because i wish you could actually use YOUR character, like going into a town market and pickpocket someone to get an item.

Really enjoyable - could improve

I second the critiques in general made so far in the comments. The melee classes are pretty useless. And you are WAY too stingy with bonus and upgrades! They're very few and far between, and they make virtually no difference. All that said, I've been playing it for hours in total, and I'm still playing it. I would love to see a sequel.

Fine game, with some adjustments it could be great

I would say the one major issue I had with the game is that while you did structure it like an RPG and the "Leader" and the Heroes level up, the fact remains that the units also should be retained.

I found it annoying that i would basically have to start over with new units every level and then progressively level them. Each heroe could instead have a "set" of units that get retained and then you can select among them to use them or "hire" new ones if you wish. You could even have a series of upgrades which would allow them to control more or less units.

If perhaps by some mechanic I am missing this is indeed the way it DOES operate then it would be great to be pointed to it. If not it might be considered for updating the game or future games you create. In order to make sure the effect of having progressivly more powerful units could easily be adjusted for by having the missions be on a sliding scale in response to the average level of your heroes.

eh...

it kinda got dull after awhile....
